Kootenay Columbia Home Medical has been providing home medical supplies, equipment and solutions throughout the East and West Kootenays for over 25 years. Our philosophy is that no two client stories are alike, which is why we believe in a highly consultative process that gains us insight into the lifestyle challenges our clients face, and develop customized solutions. Through this hands-on client service approach, we take care to ensure the client or caregiver receives the education, support and advice they need to enjoy a comfortable and confident life at home, and beyond. Locally owned and operated with offices in Cranbrook and Castlegar, plus weekly at-home visits throughout the East and West Kootenays region.

David Stokes
Owner
David Stokes’ passion for people and drive to help others overcome life’s challenges has been instrumental in informing Kootenay Columbia Home Medical’s company DNA. David’s areas of specialty include innovating complex wheelchair seating, elevating and patient lifting solutions. David is also a Registered Rehabilitaion Technology Supplier (RRTS). He has been an active member of the Kootenays since 2001, when he settled in Cranbrook after relocating from Victoria. David is a huge outdoors enthusiast, and spends his spare time enjoying the Kootenay’s boundless terrain by biking, fishing and hunting.
Dana Tippe
Owner & Certified Compression Fitter
Dana Tippe has always been and always will be part of the Kootenays community, having been born and raised in Cranbrook, where she continues to live to this very day. Prior to purchasing Kootenay Columbia Home Medical with David in 2007, Dana enjoyed a career in private bookkeeping and accounting. Since transitioning to home medical solutions, Dana has developed a passion for compression garments and bracing, as well as post-mastectomy prosthetics fitting and garments. In her spare time, Dana enjoys exploring the Kootenays backcountry by hiking and mountain biking.

BC Palliative Care Benefits support individuals of any age who have reached the end stage of a life-threatening disease or illness and who want to receive medically appropriate palliative care at home.
Medical Equipment Provision Program (MEPP)
The Medical Equipment Provision Program (MEPP) provides medical equipment for patients and clients in B.C. leaving the hospital or receiving health care services at home. For equipment, you must be assessed by a health authority clinician to have an immediate short-term equipment need for your recovery or safety.

Children Medical Equipment Distribution Services (CMEDS)
CMEDS is a pediatric equipment recycling pool that is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (“MCFD”). Kootenay Columbia Home Medical’s sub-contract applies to the East Kootenay and Kootenay Boundary regions.
